The second season of Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, concluded on November 9. The show, which gained immense popularity among Marvel enthusiasts, made its debut in 2021 and released its second installment on October 5. Season 2 proved to be a thrilling experience with unexpected twists and turns.
Post the conclusion of Loki season 2, Tom Hiddleston expressed his eagerness for a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) reunion between Loki and his adoptive brother, Thor. In a conversation with ComicBook.com, Hiddleston, “I think both Thor and Loki have had to excavate and analyze the past and who they feel they really are and what they really want.”
He added “But what’s interesting about family as well—this is just me thinking about it, is sometimes it will be difficult to let go of the preconception of who they used to be. Loki might be expecting Thor to behave in a certain way or be a certain way. Thor might be expecting Loki to be a certain way. So I think initially it would be really confusing, but also they’d been apart for a long time and no doubt they’ve been objects in each other’s mind. And so yeah, I think I wonder what a reunion would likely be, we’ll see.”
Tom Hiddleston has been part of many MCU films like The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Commenting on how a Loki-Thor reunion would look, season 2 executive producer Kevin Wright told ComicBook.com, “That would always be my hope, is that somewhere, somewhere down the line, somebody gets to tell that story because [Loki’s] so different and because Thor is so different now, too.” He added that both the characters Loki and Thor are “weirdly different” but he thinks there would be a strong understanding between them which could be really beautiful and cool.”
Loki Season 2 premiered on Disney+Hotstar and all six episodes are currently streaming online. Sophia Dimartino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, and Ke Huay Quan also star in the series. The new season was written by Eric Martin and directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
