The Bar Council of India (BCI) will conclude the online registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVIII (18) 2023 today, November 16. Candidates interested and eligible to apply can do so by visiting the official website at allindiabarexamination.com. The last day for fee payment is tomorrow, November 17. According to the schedule, the examination will be conducted on December 10. The BCI will release the admit cards on December 1. Candidates can make corrections to the application form by November 19.
Earlier, the last date to apply for the AIBE 18 was October 9 and the last date for payment of online registration for AIBE-XVIII was Oct 10. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on November 26 but later postponed to Dec 10 to avoid a clash with CLAT PG, and MP State Judicial PT exams.
AIBE XVIII (18): How to Apply
Step 1: Go to allindiabarexamination.com.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the ‘AIBE 18 registration’ link.
Step 3: As a new page opens, enter the required details and log in.
Step 4: Then fill out the AIBE 18 registration form by entering all the necessary details.
Step 5: Upload the essential documents (like passport-size photo, candidate’s signature, and other related certificates).
Step 6: Once the documents are uploaded, pay the examination fee via an online method (such as debit card, credit card, or UPI.)
Step 7: Cross-check all the details before submitting the AIBE 18 form.
According to the AIBE 18 exam structure, applicants must answer 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) in 3 hours and 30 minutes. In addition, candidate must also record their chosen responses on the given OMR form. The exam is conducted by the council for awarding eligible candidates the Certificate of Practice (COP) for practising law in an Indian court.
Starting this year, the council raised the AIBE pass percentage for general category candidates from 40 per cent to 45 per cent. While the pass percentage for applicants from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) has increased to 40 per cent from earlier 35 per cent.
