The ICAR PG, PhD counselling process is comprehensive, consisting of four rounds, with a provision for a mop-up round if deemed necessary

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has released the revised counselling schedule for admissions to postgraduate (PG) and doctoral (PhD) programs. This announcement marks a crucial step in the admission process for the academic year 2023. All candidates who have been shortlisted for the admissions process are required to visit the official ICAR website at icaradmission.in and complete the candidate login procedure. This login process is essential for seat allocation and document uploading, which is a critical step in securing a place in the participating universities. The successful completion of this step will allow candidates to secure their seats in the desired academic institutions.

The counselling process is comprehensive, consisting of four rounds, with a provision for a mop-up round if deemed necessary. This ensures that the admission process is thorough and caters to the diverse needs of the candidates.

It’s important to note that for ICAR PG admissions, 30 per cent of the available seats are reserved for students in Agricultural Universities (AUs). However, it’s worth highlighting that the seats at ICAR-DUs, RLBCAU, Jhansi, and Dr. RPCAU, Pusa, are 100 per cent reserved for ICAR PG admissions. This reservation system is part of the centralized admission process, which has been in effect since the Academic Session 2015-16.

The counselling process is a multi-stage procedure, and it’s imperative for candidates to understand the key aspects:

1. Registration: The initial step requires candidates to register, after which they can log in using their unique login ID and password. Please note that there is a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 500 for ICAR AIEEA 2023 counselling.

2. Course and University Selection: Once logged in, candidates can select the courses and universities they aspire to be admitted to. It’s crucial to save these choices after the selection process and candidates have the flexibility to change their preferences as many times as needed before the deadline.

3. Allotment and Document Upload: Eligible candidates who are allocated seats will be notified via email and SMS regarding their course and university. They can then access the portal to obtain the allotment letter. Subsequently, they must upload the requisite documents online to confirm their seat reservation.

4. University Reporting: Candidates must then report to the respective university with all the necessary documents. The institution will meticulously review all documents before issuing the final admission letters.

5. Seat Acceptance Fee: Upon verification of submitted documents by the university, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable seat acceptance fee of Rs. 10,000 on ICAR’s counselling site. This fee is mandatory for all candidates, regardless of their category.
