The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the application deadlines for Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admissions at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for the academic year 2024-25. The updated deadline for submitting application forms is now November 15, extending from the previous date of November 7.
Interested students can submit their applications for JNVST Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admissions by accessing the official website at navodaya.gov.in. The lateral entry selection test for Classes 9 and 11 will be based on their performance in the upcoming selection test, scheduled for February 10, 2024, as per the latest official information.
“The last date for submission of online application for class IX, XI Lateral Entry Selection Test 2024 has been further extended up to 15.11.2023. The online correction window will remain open on 16.11.2023 & 17.11.2023. The correction in data of registered candidates for class IX LEST 2024 is permitted only in GENDER (MALE/FEMALE/TRANSGENDER), CATEGORY (GENERAL/OBC/SC/ST), AREA (RURAL/URBAN) & DISABILITY,” reads the official notification.
Candidates are required to submit their photograph, signature, and parent’s signature in either jpg or jpeg format. It is crucial to ensure that the file size of these documents falls within the range of 10kb to 100kb.
NVS Class 9, 11 TEST 2024: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Educational Qualifications: To qualify for admission to Class 11 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), candidates must have completed their Class 10 examination in the 2023–24 academic year from a school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), state board, or another recognized board.
For admission to Class 9, eligibility is limited to genuine residents currently enrolled in Class 8 at a government or government-recognised school within the district where a JNV is situated.
Age Requirements: Candidates seeking admission to Class 11 must be at least 15 years old but not exceed 17 years old, indicating that their birth dates should fall between June 1, 2007, and July 31, 2009. For NVS Class 9 admission, candidates’ birth dates should be between May 1, 2009, and July 31, 2011.
NVS Class 9, 11 TEST 2024: HOW TO APPLY
STEP 1: Visit the official website: navodaya.gov.in
STEP 2: On the homepage, locate and click on the JNV Class IX or XI Admission 2024 link.
STEP 3: On the new page, select “apply for registration.”
STEP 4: Register by providing all the required information.
STEP 5: Login and fill out the details in the online application form.
STEP 6: Complete the application process by paying the required fee.
STRP 7: Download the NVS application form and save it for future reference.
The NVS lateral entry test is scheduled for 2 hours and 30 minutes, taking place from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. The examination consists of five sections featuring objective-type questions. A dedicated 15-minute period, from 10:45 AM to 11 AM, is allotted for students to read instructions and questions. Specially-abled students are granted an additional 50 minutes of extra time.
