Rising star Rinku Singh once again unleashed his beast mode with the bat producing a blistering 31* off just 9 deliveries against Australia in a T20I on Sunday.
Rinku came down to bat in the 18th over and smashed four boundaries and two sixes at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram to guide India to a mammoth total of 235 in the second T20I.
The hosts went on to win the game by 44 runs to clinch a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.
In the opening fixture of the series against the Aussies, Rinku had pulled off a match-winning unbeaten knock of 22 off 14 balls.
His performances with the bat have been quite impressive and cricketer-turned-commentator Ian Bishop has praised the southpaw for his sublime show against Australia.

Bishop has been a long-standing admirer of Rinku.
In an IPL 2023 match against Gujarat Titans, Rinku had hit five sixes in the final over to take Kolkata Knight Riders across the finishing line.
A string of remarkable IPL performances sent Rinku’s graph soaring and Bishop had even predicted back then that if not the senior team, an ‘India A’ call-up was surely imminent for the 26-year-old.
“I am wondering when he gets an elevation. I saw him last season, there is something about him besides the numbers that we have seen. You look at his first-class records, so I am hoping an India A call-up is at least around the corner for him,” Bishop had said during an interaction on ESPNcricinfo.
Bishop had even penned a heartfelt note for Rinku after a memorable show in IPL 2023. “Whatever the future holds for him, it is unambiguous that Rinku Singh has continued to win hearts and minds across the Tata IPL 2023,” the former West Indies pacer had written.

Having played in 14 IPL matches this year, Rinku notched up 474 runs at an average of 59.25. His strike-rate had been an impressive 149.53.
Thanks to a stellar IPL season, Rinku earned his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Ireland earlier this year in August.
He has so far scored 128 runs in seven T20Is.
