Anti-North India tirade puts Thackeray in the dock
An NCP leader lodged the case against Thackeray over his provocative writeup.

Mumbai: A Mumbai sessions court on Monday issued summons against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for allegedly making adverse remarks against migrants and North India in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece, Samna, last year.

The court asked the Shiv Sena leader to appear in the court on Thursday. The court was hearing a petition filed by NCP activist Munna Tripathi. Tripathi has accused Thackeray of publishing provocative articles in Saamna on June 19 last year.

Additional sessions judge SJ Shah issued the summons and asked Thackeray to present himself before the court on September 20.

On the last occasion, the judge had directed the police to execute a bailable warrant against Thackeray, issued by a Railway Mobile court, for failing to appear before the court.

The court had directed the police to go to Thackeray's residence 'Matoshree' to execute the warrant, but the police has not executed the same as yet.
