New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan has stirred a controversy by blaming the US and Russia for terrors attacks in Paris that claimed 129 lives. He said the history will decide who are the real terrorists.
Khan said, "Pehle yeh dekhiye aap ki beguanhon ko kisne maara, phir baad mei kisne maara. Begunahon ki maut America kare toh galat, Russia kare toh galat, koi sangathan kare toh galat. Yeh toh itihaas tay karega ki kaun aatankwadi hai aur kaun nai. yeh aane wala kal tay karega (We should be seen who killed the innocent first. Murder of innocent is wrong if it is carried out by the US, Russia or any outfit. Future is decide who are terrorists and who are not."
The Bharatiya Janata Party hit out at Khan condemning the statement and calling the comment distasteful.
"It is most unwanted and condemnable comment coming from a Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan because it puts India's fight against terror in a bad light. Akhilesh Yadav should condemn Azam Khan's remarks and come up with a statement condemning what the minister has said."
At least 129 people were killed and more than 350 injured in coordinated attacks that targeted the Bataclan, restaurants and the Stade de France stadium.
