New Delhi: A clash broke out on Friday between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters in Model Town area of North-West Delhi.
AAP alleged that Congress supporters were distributing cash and liquor to the voters in slum clusters and when they stopped them, a clash broke out. About 15 people were involved in the incident, AAP alleged.
An AAP candidate fighting elections from Model Town and an AAP supporter have received injuries. Police say they have to record statements of the injured. A case will be registered only after that, the police said.
It was the first time that AAP and Congress supporters clashed. On two earlier occasions, AAP supporters had quarrel with BJP workers.
On February 1, a scuffle had broken out between volunteers of AAP and BJP workers at Connaught Place following which police registered FIR against both the parties.
On January 3, at least five people were injured in a clash between AAP and BJP workers after a debate show on a Hindi television channel in Tughlaqabad area of south Delhi.
