New Delhi: As a part of the Congress's exercise to prepare an election manifesto comprising demands and aspirations of various sections of society, party Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be in Haryana on Tuesday to meet farmers and take their opinion.
The Gandhi scion will be in Haryana's Gannaur town where he will be holding an interactive session with farmer organisations.
Gandhi had earlier met people from various sections of society including Panchayat members for consultation on preparing party manifesto.
Gandhi had earlier this month met women representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and taken their inputs for Congress's 2014 Lok Sabha elections manifesto.
He, had in January, held consultations with representatives from various minority communities, including Muslims to incorporate their views and suggestions for the party manifesto.
The exercise comes in line with Gandhi's call for "opening the doors and windows of politics" for common man in formulating policies and programmes of the government as the party sought to reach out to the people directly in the manifesto-making exercise by launching a website to seek direct feedback from the public.
As a prelude, Gandhi had held a meeting with representatives of Dalits, tribal and OBCs on December 13 to discuss the social, political and economic challenges before the communities and formulate programmes to address them.
The consultation process called "Your Voice Our Pledge" has been started with a view to help shape the pan-India agenda of the manifesto.
