The indications of a split are all there and speculation is rife about a realignment of political forces in Karnataka.

New Delhi: The signs of cracks getting deeper in the JD(S)-BJP coalition are all there in Karnataka and speculation is rife about a realignment of political forces.

The speculation was sparked off by former chief minister Dharam Singh's recent remark that there will be a change in political equations after the UP polls.

In fact, Dharam Singh also said the JDS could align with the Congress again before the BJP's turn for the CM’s chair in September.

Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, though evading a direct reply, didn't rule out a change in the political landscape.

“Politics is not still water. It's constantly running and we can't say what changes will happen when. Maybe that's why Dharam Singh made that statement,” he told CNN-IBN.

But when asked if he was open to a new alliance, considering Dharam Singh said specifically that he would be open to it, Kumaraswamy said, “You must ask Dharam Singh what he means by political realignment.”

What's your reaction?
