Nizamabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter Kavita has been staying in Nizamabad town for the past one month. She has been campaigning for long hours to make sure her party wins all Assembly seats in her Lok Sabha constituency and believes there is a KCR wave in the state.
How is the election campaign going?
Very good, there is a KCR wave. With the help of that wave we are confident of winning 100-plus seats. TRS will form government again in Telangana.
In 2009, TRS won nine out of nine seats in Nizamabad district. What about this time?
Definitely, with an even larger mandate. In the last elections people expected that only TRS government can develop the state. We met the expectations of the people.
If we compare Mahakutami (Peoples Front) manifesto with TRS manifesto, Peoples Front one looks better. Then how do you believe the people will vote for you?
These hollow promises only sound good, they are impossible to implement. In 2014, we promised to increase pensions from Rs 200 to Rs 1000. At that time the Congress questioned us, now even the Congress is promising Rs 2000 pension. This time KCR has promised Rs 2,000 pension and people believing in it. What KCR says is implementable others are just making empty promises.
Chandrababu Naidu has been campaigning in Telanagana. Will he make an impact?
For the the past four years, the Congress and TDP have never raised their voices for Telangana. Chandrababu wrote 30, 35 letters against water projects in the state. We protested in Parliament to protect the rights of the state in water sharing. There were prominent Congress leaders who sat in the House silently. Today, they say they will protect interests of Telangana, who will believe it? The people have seen their real faces and will punish them in the elections.
KCR was confident of bagging 100 seats when he dissolved the Assembly, that confidence seems to have waned a bit with the Mahakutami providing a tough fight.
It is only the media which think so, it is not a reality. The people are rejecting the People’s Front and supporting the TRS.
Opposition parties talk about your unfulfilled promises like double bedroom houses and three acres of land for Dalits.
The people know what we did. We implemented 70-80 wonderful schemes which we have not mentioned in the manifesto. Whatever schemes you mentioned will be achieved, it is a continuous process. They are not time-bound programmes. The opposition is just trying to mislead voters.
Opposition says TRS and BJP, TRS and MIM as friends, while Asaduddin Owaisi says nobody can form the government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi says we are with the Congress. Rahul Gandhi says we are with the BJP. Which one is true? If a regional party like TRS grows, parties like the BJP and the Congress try to suppress them. The same is being practiced in Telangana.
Chandrababu Naidu recently said there are only two alliances in the country. One is with BJP and the other against. Where is the TRS?
Even Chandrababu does not know which side he is in. He left the BJP and joined hands with the Congress. People are laughing at him, he has no right to ask questions to KCR and TRS. KCR is trying to form non-Congress and non-BJP front in the country. It is not political front. It is people’s front.
In some constituencies, TRS are candidates are being stopped by people and there are protesting against them. Why it is happening?
Again I am telling, we are confident on winning 100 plus seats out of 119. In fact, our MLAs worked hard to implement government schemes. But, the Congress wants to create trouble and are sending two, three people to the constituency to onstruct campaigning. They shoot these incidents and share the videos with the media. These are plants by the Congressand nothing else.
KCR and KTR are campaigning in entire Telnagana but, why are you confined only to your district and Parliamentary constituency?
My duty is to make 12 TRS candidates win in my district and my Lok Sabha constituency. Jagityal is one of the segment which comes under my constituency where we lost in 2014. That’s the reason I am putting my special effort to win this seat.
Are you not a star campaigner of the party?
I have always been a worker in the party. I will continue to do whatever the party tell me to do.
Are you still confident of getting 100 seats?
Definitely, we worked hard. The people of Telangana are our people, our leader always thinks about them. KCR is in the hearts of the people of Telangana. They will ensure a massive victory for us.
