New Delhi: Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that a Lokpal without the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) functioning under it was like an empty tin box.
Reacting to the reports of the government bringing the prosecution wing of the CBI under the Lokpal, Kejriwal said that Team Anna was against the division of the Central investigating agency and the whole of it must come under Lokpal.
The social activist further said that the stand of the CBI was also right as it could not function under ten bosses.
"We demand that the recruitment of CBI employees including the director should be done by the Lokpal," said Kejriwal.
"CBI's financial and administrative control should be under Lokpal. The three issues mentioned in sense of the house are the only things that matter," he added.
The social activist also said that Team Anna appreciated the political parties coming to Jantar Mantar for a debate on Lokpal, and defended it by saying that it was no disrespect to Parliament.
Team Anna has also booked Azad Maidan in Mumbai for Anna Hazare’s fast on December 27, which would depend on the developments in Parliament, said Kejriwal.
