Vikramaditya Singh will take on the fight against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut fielded by the BJP from the Mandi seat.
According to an India Today report, talking about her son, Vikramaditya Singh’s candidature, Himachal Pradesh Congress unit chief Pratibha Singh said the people of Mandi have “always been with us”.
Pratibha Singh is the sitting MP from Mandi and has won the seat thrice.
According to a TOI report, Pratibha Singh, after a meeting with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, said party leaders agreed that a young candidate should be fielded from the Mandi seat.
“Discussions were held on the 2-3 names that we shortlisted. It depends on the high command, on Mallikarjun Kharge, and on what names they approve. All our senior leaders believe that this time a young leader should be fielded. So, a consensus has been reached on the name of Vikramaditya Singh. The names will be finalised soon,” Pratibha Singh was quoted by TOI as saying.
