Lok Sabha Election 2024 News Updates: Day after filing his nomination for Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday will hold a roadshow in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar. Ghatkopar is the suburb in eastern Mumbai that hit headlines on Monday after a massive hoarding collapsed during dust storm, killing at least 14 people.

Strict traffic guidelines have been issued in the financial capital as PM Modi’s roadshow will cover 2.5 km. The police officers will ensure there are no security lapses during his rally. Modi will address a rally in Dindori, Kalyan and Ghatkopar in the Mumbai North East Lok Sabha constituencies.

• In his election affidavit submitted during filing of nomination from Varanasi, PM Narendra Modi stated that he has total assets worth over Rs 3 crore. He, however, owns no land, houses or cars.

• Meanwhile, electoral fight has intensified in Uttar Pradesh with just four days left for campaigning to end in key seats of Amethi and Raebareli. Taking the lead, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi accused Amethi MP Smriti Irani of having no love for the people of the area, and only focusing on defeating Rahul Gandhi. BJP has unleashed its top leaders, with chief minister Yogi Adityanath pitching in his support. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will be campaigning in the key UP seats (once known to be Gandhi bastions) today.

• Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that when the BJP got 300 seats, it built the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and now temples will be built at Krishna Janmabhoomi site in Mathura and in place of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi after it gets 400 seats in Lok Sabha polls. He also said that Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) will be included in India under the leadership of PM Modi.

• Reiterating Sarma’s statement, Union minister Giriraj Singh said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party manages to get over 400 seats, it will take the development along with heritage. “Places like Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya will reach newer heights,” he added.

• Union home minister Amit Shah is set to address a rally in West Bengal’s Hooghly, before proceeding to Odisha. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi too will be present in the state, where he will take part in a bike rally in Bolangir.

• Reports stated that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to address a joint press conference with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow today.
