Political Murders in Karnataka: BJP to Hold State-wide Protests Today
As a mark of protest against the deteriorating law and order situation and growing number of political killings in the state, the Karnataka BJP will hold state-wide protests on Thursday.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka BJP will hold state-wide protests on Thursday against the "crumbling" law and order.

The call for protests comes a day after a BJP leader was brutally hacked to death in Anekal, just 30 kms from Bengaluru city, in the early hours on Tuesday.

Vasu was a Town Municipal Council member and could have been chairman of the TMC in the near future, said BJP spokesperson Aravind Limbavali in a press release.

"He was a popular Dalit leader in the region and aspired to be Council chairman. It was to thwart this attempt that he was killed", said Limbavali.

The police have so far desisted from calling it a political killing, as investigations are preliminary. Home Minister G Parameshwara, however, said the police will take up an impartial probe and ensure whoever the culprits are, even if they are from rival parties, would be brought to justice.

The RSS said, in the last two years, at least ten members of their and affiliate organisations like the VHP, have been murdered in politically motivated incidents.
