Lucknow: Posters depicting Rahul Gandhi as Lord Rama slaying Prime Minister Narendra Modi, portrayed as ten-headed Ravana, have appeared at the former's parliamentary contituency in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi. Rahul is on a two-day tour of his parliamentary constituency.
The posters go on to say that Rahul Gandhi will usher in Rahul Raj (Ram Rajya) in the country and will end the "misrule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)" in 2019. Behind the posters is a local Congressman, Abhay Shukla.
Another set of posters welcomed the 'missing Amethi MP', who has ignored health, education and development of Amethi. The poster had a grim looking Rahul Gandhi and said it was from the development deprived people of Amethi.
Rahul Gandhi is to arrive in his parliamentary constituency around noon and would take part in a road show that will stop over at seven prominent points of Amethi.
Amethi and Rae Bareli are considered strongholds of the Congress. Currently Aditi Singh, daughter of the five-time MLA Akhilesh Singh, is the Congress MLA from Rae Bareli. However, BJP emerged on top in the recently concluded civic elections in Amethi and the current MLA of the area is also from the BJP.
On Tuesday, Rahul will be meeting party leaders and workers at the Munshiganj guest house. From there, he will move for Musafirkhana at 11 am, where he will be meeting people and his party workers.
Around noon, Rahul Gandhi will be kicking off a pad yatra from Gauriganj Post Office which will end at Hanuman Mandir. Rahul Gandhi will then have darshan and also perform the puja.
