9. Tawi is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Tawi falls in Aizawl district and Aizwal region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 15,485 voters in the seat, which includes 7,430 male voters, and 8,055 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Tawi recorded a voter turnout of 84.2%. In 2013 the turnout was 87.01%, and in 2008 it was 86.5%.
In 2013, R Lalzirliana of INC won the seat by a margin of 947 votes (7.47%). R Lalzirliana secured 45.42% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,211 votes (10.62%), registering 41.29% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, IND led in the Tawi Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
