Actor Omi Vaidya, who gained fame in Bollywood due to his role as Chatur in 3 Idiots, has now made a return to Indian cinema with his Marathi directorial debut Aaichya Gavat Marathit Bol. It stars Omi Vaidya and actress Sanskruti Balgude in the lead roles. Parth Balero plays a supporting role in the movie. The film has been released in the theatres today, January 19.
The story and the dialogues have been jointly written by Amruta Hardikar and Omi Vaidya. The music of the movie is composed by Avinash and Vishwajeet. The cinematography of the movie is done by Yohesh Koli while the editing is executed by Mayur Hardas and Omi Vaidya. On this occasion, the actor recently gave an interview to News18 Lokmat, highlighting his experience of directing a Marathi film.
While talking in Marathi, the actor said that he has been learning the native language of Maharashtra for some time. The actor further claimed that the movie Aaichya Gavat Marathit Bol is worth watching and has asked his fans to visit the theatres. While sharing the experience of working under the direction of Omi Vaidya, actor Parth Bhalerao said that the script of the movie is unique and had comedy which was never seen before. He called the movie a “fresh comedy”.
Omi Vaidya called his experience of directing a Marathi movie, “tough” after the interviewer inquired about the language barriers between him and the actors. Omi, however, praised the Marathi actors for being supportive and humble. He also appreciated the dedication of Marathi actors towards their work and roles. “Marathi culture embodies the values of love, traditions and family which I have seen throughout my time here,” said the actor while talking about his love for India and Maharashtra.
The movie Aaichya Gavat Marathit Bol revolves around the story of Omi Vaidya’s character and his quest to find a Marathi girl for marriage. Sanskruti Balgude plays the lead heroine in the movie. The last Bollywood movie of Omi Vaidya was Blackmail which was released in 2018.
