Pushpa 2: The Rule is undoubtedly one of the most awaited movies of 2024. While everyone is eagerly waiting for it, the makers have also assured that the Allu Arjun starrer will be “bigger and grander”. Amid the excitement for the film, a recent report has surfaced that dismisses the rumours that Pushpa 2 might get delayed.
As per a source close to the entertainment portal PinkVilla, the shooting of the film will wrap by May. The source shared, “Sukumar and Allu Arjun are committed to wrap up shooting for Pushpa 2 by end of May 2024. Around 100 days of shoot still remains and the team will be shooting continuously over the next 5 months before calling it a wrap. Sukumar has his pattern of shooting and editing the film, as all the stuff that’s written, is shot and directly taken on the edit table. Ones who work with Sukumar know his style of working and the ace filmmaker is shooting for the film as planned.”
The source added, “The high-on VFX shots have been planned and shot in advance, whereas the dramatic portions side-by-side of the songs will be kept towards the concluding parts of the shoot. The makers will kick off their promotional campaign post that and bring it on August 15. It’s an extended holiday period and the makers are in no mood to miss out on the date. The 10-days has multiple holidays – right from Independence Day to Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami – and given that it’s the most awaited film of the season, they want to tap onto the holiday period. There is enough buffer time too as the August 15 date has been decided keeping all the unexpected delays in mind.”
Recently, the official Instagram page of Mythri Movie Makers shared an update on the movie and wished director Sukumar on his birthday. In the note, the makers also clarified that the Pushpa 2 release date is not getting changed and rather it will hit theatres as scheduled i.e. on August 15, 2024.
Pushpa: The Rule was written and directed by Sukumar. Released in 2021, the film turned out to be a blockbuster. The action drama dealt with red sandalwood smuggling. Last year, Allu Arjun also won the Best Actor National Award for her performance in the movie.
Last year, Allu Arjun shared his first-look poster of Pushpa 2 in which he was seen dressed in a saree with his face painted in shades of blue and red. He also sported bangles, jewellery, a nose pin and jhumkas. Later, the look poster of Fahadh Faasil from the movie was also released. Fans are now waiting for Rashmika Mandanna’s look poster.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi has also reportedly joined the sequel of Pushpa. Reportedly, the makers are also planning to get on board a Bollywood actor too. However, no name has been officially announced as of now.
