Samsung has yet again upped the stakes on the flagship front of the smartphone wars. Its latest flagship, the Galaxy S7 packs in features that give it a headstart, when compared to opponents such as the iPhone 6s.

Unveiled on the eve of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Galaxy S7 has quite a number of impressive features to its credit which again tilts the balance in favour of Samsung.

The new S7, that is on sale from March, will rake in the numbers for quite a while before Apple can even think of making any amends with the iPhone 7 that isn't expected to make an appearance before September 2016.

In a spec-to-spec and a feature-to-feature fight the list is long in which the S7 betters the 6s. Here are the top 7:

1. Camera

The S7 takes the smartphone camera to an altogether new level. Galaxy S7 introduces the first Dual Pixel camera on a smartphone. The aperture in the S7 is f/1.7 compared to f/2.2 in the iPhone 6s. This means that S7 camera's aperture opens wider than the 6s' therefore letting in more light. The individual pixels on the sensors of the S7 are also larger. This means better photographs, even in low light conditions.

2. Display

Samsung's phones have already been winning accolades for their impressive display quality. And the S7 is only an improvement. Images on the Super AMOLED screen appear far superior to than when seen on an iPhone's IPS LCD. Also iPhone 6s' resolution of 1334x750 is not match for the 2560x1440 on the S7.

3. Water and dust resistance

The Galaxy S7 is also an outdoor animal, unlike the iPhone. You can take the IP68-rated S7 out in the rain, into the shower, or in the pool for up to 30 minutes up to a depth 1.5 meters. That's not all, the S7 doesn't even need its micro USB and earphone ports to be sealed with extra caps and covers. We wouldn't advise you to try doing the same with the iPhone 6s.

4. Storage

Storage is something users can ever have enough of. But Apple still believes it to be a good idea to even have a 16 GB iPhone. The S7 comes with a standard 32 GB of internal storage that can be upped by an additional 200 GB. The top of the line iPhone offers at the most 128 GB.

5. Dual-SIM

The S7 comes with a hybrid SIM slot allowing use of two SIMs at the same time. Having dual-SIMs does away the bother of carrying two different phones. But then if you have an iPhone, you might as well get another phone to put in the other SIM.

6. RAM

RAM - the more the merrier. With so many resource intensive apps around, it helps to be loaded with RAM. The S7 has 4 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 6s is only a half of that at 2 GB.

7. Battery

Battery life is one of the top complaints amongst iPhone 6s users. Well that's kind of expected given that it has a mere 1715 mAh battery inside it. Now compare this with the 3000 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy S7.
