Recent reports have surfaced online indicating that the next Sony flagship may carry a dual-camera setup, along with some top of the line firepower. A Sony H8216 smartphone has been revealed in a recent Reddit forum, which, as per the leak, will carry two 12-megapixel cameras at its back. In addition, the smartphone is rumoured to sport a 15-megapixel front snapper that will house an EXMOR RS sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. Other specifications include a 5.48-inch (5.5-inch) display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution on the device and Sony’s X-Reality engine while covering 148 percent of the sRGB colour gamut in addition to HDR support.
Apparently, the upcoming Sony smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage. It will be backed by a 3130 mAh battery that will support Qualcomm Quick Charge feature. The device may also run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. As of now, very few OEMs have confirmed the Snapdragon 845 chipset in their upcoming smartphones, Xiaomi and Samsung being two of them.
Previous rumours surrounding the Sony smartphones indicate a February launch for the device, at the MWC Barcelona next year.
