The recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 4A went on its first online sales on March 23, Thursday at 12 PM and the company claims to have sold 2.5 lakhs units on both Amazon.in and Mi.com. The sale, which required no prior registrations, lasted for just four minutes. The next sale will happen on March 30 at 12MP
E-commerce major Amazon.in also claimed to have received over 1 million ‘notify me’ alerts from eager customers. “Amazon.in witnessed huge interest with more than 5 million hits per minute on the site and orders spiked to a record 1500 per second during the period of the sale,” according to a statement. The Reliance Jio compatible smartphone (VoLTE support) comes with a metal unibody design and runs an older Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 interface.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is powered by a 64-bit 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with support for a microSD card.
The smartphone offers a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with LED Flash along with a 5MP front camera. Xiaomi, however, hasn’t provided a fingerprint sensor on the Redmi 4A and the device is backed by a 3,120mAh battery.
