Shantanu Maheshwari has been around in the entertainment industry for some time now and has made a name for himself through his exceptional talent. He has been part of several TV shows and played a pivotal role in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi alongside Alia Bhatt. Shantanu is not only a talented actor but also a skilled dancer, and his energy on stage is infectious. In a latest interview, the actor spoke openly about his decision to pursue a career in dance and whether he has ever faced trolling for the same.

In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, when asked about negative criticisms, Shantanu said, “I never faced that. Thankfully, I never faced that. I think I’ve come from Kolkata, so Kolkata is very rich in literature and art by default. So, they never have this thing ke ‘ladki jaise dance kar raha hai aise kuch’ (You dance like a girl). They are very appreciative about art and culture and so are my parents. They never thought like that. In fact, my father for the longest time wanted and still wants at times that I should be doing classical dancing. I am not a trained dancer. I am self-trained, self-taught.”

Moreover, shedding light on how he has faced trolls as an actor, he mentioned that he has not faced much of it yet. Shantanu said that his well-wishers and fans have been very kind to him. He added, “I think they are intelligent and smart people who understand what I’m going through because they understand me as a person more than anything.”

Helmed by Palki Malhotra, the dance drama also featured an ensemble cast of Shruti Sinha, Sahaj Singh Chahal, Tanvi Gadkari, Harsh Dingwanii, Tanya Bhushan, Dhanshree Yadav, Teriya Magar, Adnaan Khan, and Rohan Pal in key roles.
