For regular Delhites, the Delhi Metro is the fastest way to commute in the city. But for social media influencers, it’s a stage to showcase their talent to the world. The flood of viral videos, which sometimes can get really absurd, is proof that the Delhi Metro is much more than a regular commute option. Adding to the long list of viral videos featuring the metro, a social media influencer named Swati Sharma dropped a clip of herself dancing inside the train.
With the musical beats pumping, Swati clad in a colourful saree, danced to Billo Rani song from the movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. Swati’s dance moves caught other passengers off guard but she did not seem to care about the reaction.
The clip has sparked a heated debate among social media users, with many criticising Swati. Users shared their opinions on how people should use public places and the boundaries of personal freedom.
To some people, the actions of Sharma were demeaning, and many people referred to the dance move as disruptive, and inconsiderate to other passengers.
A user commented, “Beautiful dance but in metro not good.”
Another user mentioned, “You dance well, but choose the platform right. It’s not right to start anywhere.”
A person remarked, “All this can be done at home as well, why is there a need to do it in the metro?”
“Don’t make others feel uncomfortable in the metro. Dance at home or on stage. There are so many places. Don’t do it in public spaces,” read a reply.
The video is not the first of its kind and definitely not the last to go viral.
Previously a video of two men singing a devotional song in the Delhi Metro train had caught the internet’s attention. In the video, a man is seen playing the guitar with the other one crooning the devotional song of Devi Parvati. Commuters in the metro joined in the duo’s jamming session.
The clip raked up over 9 lakh views on Instagram.
