Despite declining his generous offer, the woman was astonished to receive a call from a prestigious medical centre in her locality.

A woman with a disability, who faced bullying during her school years, has shared how a deal she made with a boy to prevent harassment has resulted in a remarkable gesture of gratitude years later. Now 29, she has Cerebral Palsy, a condition affecting muscle control and movement, which made her vulnerable to bullying during her school days.

With the arrival of new classmates one year, she noticed that as the bullying escalated, a popular boy stepped in to defend her. He left his notebooks for her. She recounted, “And thus commenced our symbiotic arrangement. The bullying ceased, and I took on his homework duties daily. We never acknowledged it verbally. This routine persisted for nearly three years, during which his academic performance improved. I was simply relieved to find peace at school. Upon graduation, we parted ways without further communication, and I never crossed paths with him again.”

However, she later revealed how a week ago, he reached out to her on Instagram, sharing how well life had treated him. “He offered to buy me a house and a car. Initially, I was sceptical, thinking it might be a scam, but after video calls and seeing evidence, I realised it’s genuine,” she added.

She continued, explaining that he had become a successful businessman, now worth millions and residing abroad. “He mentioned he never forgot me because I helped him achieve his current success. He expressed a desire to repay me, acknowledging the challenges of being disabled and a woman in our country.”

Despite declining his generous offer, she was astonished to receive a call from a prestigious medical centre in her locality. “They informed me that three years of physical therapy had been fully covered. Still doubting, I attended the sessions, and to my surprise, it was indeed true. After completing the initial two sessions, my body already feels significantly better.”

Feeling “shocked and confused” by what she perceived as a purely transactional arrangement, she turned to Reddit seeking advice. Many encouraged her to accept his offer. “He wants to express gratitude now,” one commenter noted. “For the wealthy, what may seem excessively generous to us is akin to buying lunch for them. Embrace your therapy, and may it bring you ongoing relief!”

Some were taken aback by her reluctance to accept his generous gesture. “He’s a millionaire. Let him buy you a car and house,” one urged, while another said, “In this economy?! Take the repayment; you deserve it.”

Others talked about the kindness behind his offer. “That’s a thoughtful gesture; you should accept it and be grateful. Don’t decline someone’s kindness when there’s no malicious intent,” a user said. Some saw the offering as a means of providing freedom: “He’s not just giving you a house and car; he’s offering you freedom. It may seem insignificant to you, but it holds significant meaning for him.”
