A TikTok video from Marie Armstrong of Florida, USA, has recently sparked attention due to her unfortunate tattoo experience. Marie shared that she ended up with what she considers one of the world’s ugliest tattoos after a botched touch-up appointment. Initially, in 2023, she had a half-peeled banana tattooed on her index finger, a design that had begun to fade over time, which is typical for tattoos in areas like fingers or palms.
Marie’s troubles began when she sought to have the tattoo redrawn. However, the outcome was far from what she expected. The new rendition of the half-peeled banana appeared deformed and vastly inferior to the original. Marie attributes this disappointment to the language barrier she faced with her tattoo artist, who only spoke Spanish. Consequently, she had to rely on showing him a photo of her earlier tattoo, hoping for a satisfactory result, which, unfortunately, did not materialise.
Expressing her frustration, Marie lamented, “I actually liked my original banana and I thought it was adorable and [the tattoo artist] just put the ugliest piece of sh*t on my body ever that I have to live with.” Subsequently, Marie and her boyfriend reached out to the tattoo shop owner, sending him images of the tattoo. According to Dexerto, the shop owner advised Marie to allow the tattoo to heal, peel off the scab and then return for him to rectify it.
Marie remains dissatisfied with these assurances, expressing confusion over whether to seek correction from the shop owner or the original artist. She regrets not sticking with the original tattoo artist for the redraw. The video concludes with Marie lamenting that she now has what she considers the ugliest tattoo on her finger.
Social media users who viewed Marie’s clip echoed her sentiments, agreeing that the tattoo looks deformed. Some likened it to a sock puppet with ears, while others simply labelled it as bad.
