After taking a comforting shower, people usually go to bed with wet hair. As per new information, experts are advising people to stop doing so. They have revealed the reasons as well, citing that this practice could end up giving you health issues. Sleep experts at a mattress company, Happy Beds, are asking people to avoid going to bed with wet hair or even to rest their wet heads on the bed’s headboard while engaged in any work. According to them, our wet hair creates dampness on that area in the bed or a headboard, which could become a breeding place for the mites. But, keep in mind, mites are not the only problem you should worry about, as the headboard or bed may be hiding bed bugs or bacteria. Happy Beds conducted a survey, which revealed that around 53 percent of the people, an unexpectedly shocking number, did not clean their headboards.
So, to protect yourself from experiencing something as disgusting, you must simply avoid resting your wet hair on the bed, and remember to do the same for the headboard. Most importantly, the bedding should be washed regularly, which will keep the bed bugs and bacteria at bay.
Discard the pillows after two years, as according to more information, there is a very high chance that it contains millions of dust mites. Hundreds of these dust mites are found in only one gram of dust. As per more data obtained by Happy Beds, around one third of the people kept their pillows for more than two years. Keeping the pillow for such long durations and that too unwashed is a dust mite home ground.
According to studies, if a person is exposed to dust mites early in their lives, it could result in some respiratory conditions. Children, as old as a year in age were found to be suffering from wheezing, while the condition of asthma was seen in children belonging to the ages 12 to 36 months.
