IAS Officer Poses As Patient, Finds 'Expired Medicines' At Health Centre In UP's Firozabad
Firozabad SDM (Sadar) Krati Raj, who acted following multiple complaints by locals, found several inconsistencies during her inspection at Dida Mai health centre.

We have often witnessed police officials conducting a sting operation to nab culprits. Recently, an IAS officer disguised herself as a patient and conducted a secret operation at a healthcare centre in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad. It was on Tuesday when IAS officer Krati Raj reached the health centre covering her face with a veil. The officer mingled with other patients without overt security.

Firozabad SDM (Sadar) Krati Raj, who acted following multiple complaints by locals, found several inconsistencies during her inspection at Dida Mai health centre. The officer found expired medicines at the pharmacy and injections were also not administered properly to patients.

An IAS officer of the 2021 batch, Krati Raj also spoke to the doctor posing as a patient and figured his conduct to be unprofessional. While employees were not at work despite being marked present, there was also a lack of hygiene and cleanliness at the healthcare centre.

“I had received a complaint in regards to Dida Mai health centre that the doctor was not present even after 10 am to administer the injection for dog bite. I went there anonymously in a veil, the doctor’s behaviour was not appropriate,” the Sub-Divisional Magistrate told ANI.

In a video shared by the news agency, the IAS officer could be seen conducting a raid and taking out expired medicines at the health centre’s pharmacy.

Krati Raj said, “Half the medicines were expired, cleanliness was also not maintained.” She added, “Work was not being done in the spirit of public service. We have noted these complaints and we are investigating.”

Social media users reacted swiftly to the video. “Step out from the AC Cabin. Outstanding service,” a user said. Another praised the officer noting, “Good job.”

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr Rambadan Ram dismissed the claims that expired medicines were being given to patients. “I conducted an inspection at 12.05 pm on Wednesday. Work was on for cleanliness and painting. No major shortcomings, as pointed out by SDM were found at the health centre,” Hindustan Times quoted the CMO as saying.

He went on to add that no expired medicines were being distributed to patients. Claiming that the SDM found ‘a wrong box of medicines with expiry date’, Dr Rambadan Ram further said, “The medicines with expiry dates in March and April 2024 were kept separately and were not being used. They were to be discarded and were mentioned in the discharge register.”
