Nature never fails to show what kind of insane or miraculous stuff it has in store for us. It could, at times, simply throw us into disbelief. One of these miracles of nature is a Lyrebird. It can imitate the sounds of car alarms and even barking dogs. A Lyrebird is best known for their mimicry of a multitude of sounds that could range between the sounds of a camera shutter to a chainsaw. According to the website Britannica, the Lyrebirds are an Australian bird species, which resemble a rooster because of their brown colours. Just like a chicken, they are ground-dwellers. These birds are named after their tails, which are shaped like a lyre.

A video was shared by the official YouTube channel of Nat Geo Wild, which showcased how these miraculous birds accurately mimicked sounds around them to attract a mate. Further in the video, we get to hear it imitate the sounds of a camera shutter, complete with its motor drive. The description under the video read, “This songbird breaks out the sampler to get a mate. And the superb lyrebird doesn’t stop at mimicking other bird species — man-made noises just become part of the remix."

Netizens react to the video in the comments. A user wrote, “The chainsaw call was pretty amazing, and yet really sad." Another user wrote, “That’s really amazing how this bird can literally mimic any sound." A third netizen expressed, “It’s honestly incredible how a bird can mimic practically any other sound on the planet."

In 2019, a video attracted a lot of attention online, showing the mimicking skills of a Lyrebird. Shared by a YouTube channel called Four Fingers, the video was shot in Australia. It shows a tiny, brown bird making the sounds of a car alarm, camera shutters, and even laser beams. These birds are known for mimicking throughout the year, but it intensifies in the months between June to August.
