In an intriguing social media experiment, a user recently challenged men to take a 21-day leave from work, telling their wives they had lost their jobs. This bold test aimed to gauge the strength of their marital bonds, allowing husbands to better understand their wives’ reactions and support during challenging moments.

Sharing the details of the challenge on X (formerly Twitter), the person wrote, “Dear men, take your 21 days leave from work. Go home and tell your woman that you lost your job. Explain further that there was some loss and you had to use your savings to settle. Spend the next 14 days observing how you are treated at home and discover who you married.”

The post sparked mixed reactions from the internet. “After seeing my work pressure, my wife is telling me to resign and relax at least for some days. All women are not the same,” revealed a user.

Sharing their own experience, another chimed in, “My woman stood like a pillar for 6 years of such time of mine.”

A woman user wrote, “If my man goes through this, I will wholeheartedly support him mentally and financially. Don’t forget, some women are raised by strong fathers who have taught their daughters how to deal with such situations, who have also seen a lot in their lives (and) still knows to keep their families happy.”.

Lauding the marital test, a user pointed out, “100% percent. There’s an old truth that when you have wealth, respect follows easily. People are drawn to money, offering admiration and praise. But when fortune fades, so does much of that respect, leaving only the wise who see beyond material gain!”

However, condemning the experiment, one person said “If your woman stands by you, only for you to tell her that you lied after 21 days and caused her extreme emotional distress as a “test”, don’t be surprised if she cannot trust anymore and ends up leaving because you were the problem all along.”

On behalf of women, a user put forward this challenge: “Just vanish from home for 21 days leaving children at your home, without telling anything about your destination. Explain further that you may be travelling with friend groups with males also part of it. Spend the next 2 weeks observing your Husband and discover whom you are married to.”
