Two magicians from Telangana’s Shamshabad (near Hyderabad) have started their journey blindfolded, riding motorcycles, to have darshan of Lord Ram in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. The magicians are identified as Maruti Joshi and Ramkrushna.
Recently, when they were asked about the reasons for choosing the unique way of travelling to Ayodhya, they said, “Several people’s lives are in danger. The carelessness of fully fit drivers can turn out to be fatal for someone. Instead, those who are blind do not harm anyone and reach their destination. And so, to create awareness about safety, we are travelling to Ayodhya and will cover a distance of 1,600 kilometres,” they added.
Maruti Joshi further said that they had started their journey on February 23, and during their entire journey, wherever he had stopped, he used to perform small magic shows and praise the name of Lord Ram. People were surprised to see how they were able to travel without seeing.
Maruti Joshi also said that in magic there is a trick called blindfolding, in which the magician performs the trick by blindfolding himself. With a similar trick, both magicians have set out towards Ayodhya, taking the biggest risk of their lives, and both are undertaking this journey hand-in-hand.
According to reports, Maruti Joshi and Ramkrushna departed from Shamshabad and are scheduled to reach Ayodhya on March 1. They travel at least 200 kilometres every day. The two of them learnt how to ride a two-wheeler while blindfolded by practising nonstop for six to eight months before starting this journey.
The Shri Ram Mandir inauguration took place in Ayodhya on January 22. The grand Pran Pratistha ceremony was attended by representatives of all major spiritual and religious sects in the country. The deity Ram Lalla’s idol was made by Arun Yogiraj.
