A man in the United Kingdom sent a bill of 700 pounds (approximately Rs. 73,955) to his wife after dedicating six hours to cleaning their house, as reported by the Daily Telegraph. But, wait – isn’t this starting to sound a tad bit sexist? After all, do housewives ever get a paycheck for their Herculean efforts? But hold your judgments and skepticism because it’s all just a prank played by none other than a man who happens to run his own cleaning business.
Marc Hatch, who runs a cleaning business, Clean Me Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning, found himself on a mission to deep-clean the entire abode he shares with his wife and three little ones. Upon successfully completing this formidable task, he decided to inject some humour into the household by sending an invoice to his better half, Jasmine, all in good fun.
And the cherry on top? The delightful banter was promptly shared on the company’s Facebook page, revealing the amusing caption, “Last week, we had a very unfortunate incident when a customer refused to pay! After cleaning a large corner sofa, three bedroom carpets, and a stone floor, the customer informed us she was absolutely delighted with the results! Great news, or so we thought!"

Hatch’s message to his wife read, "Hi Jasmine, please find your payment link following yesterday’s clean. Please click the link and select your preferred payment method. Thank you for your business." Jasmine’s response was nothing short of witty, “Get a grip, we’re married with three kids."

The Facebook post quickly became a viral sensation, prompting a flurry of amused comments. One user humourously admitted, “I didn’t get it until I read that the contact was ‘the wife’ then I was like oh." Another chimed in, “This is so funny," while a third echoed the sentiment of many, stating, “This took me at least 4 reads before I got it!!"
Setting the record straight, Hatch revealed to Kennedy News and Media, “Setting the record straight, Hatch revealed to Kennedy News and Media, “We have an ongoing joke about things that we should get paid for. If I’ve got the kids, I’ll say to her ‘I’m babysitting the kids, where’s my babysitting money?’ She’s like ‘They’re your kids you don’t babysit your kids.'"
“She was sitting next to me when I sent it. I pretended I was messaging someone else and she looked at me, started laughing straight away, and replied instantly. Sometimes she’ll react like that, sometimes she’ll laugh, sometimes she’ll blow her top if I push too far but it’s always light-hearted."
