Various unique wedding videos go viral on the internet every day. Recently, one such video has garnered attention, showcasing a bride’s departure to her in-laws’ house after the wedding in a bullock cart. This unique “bidai” clip is currently circulating widely, surprising viewers with its nostalgic charm reminiscent of old-time weddings depicted in movies.

Traditionally, brides were sent off after weddings in palanquins but as distances increased, bullock carts became a common mode of transportation. However, in contemporary times, brides often plan their ‘bidai’ ceremonies with extravagant vehicles, including expensive cars and even helicopters. Therefore, the recent viral clip depicting a bride travelling to her in-laws’ house on a bullock cart along the road to Jhansi has caught many off guard.

In the viral video, the band players are seen leading the procession on the road, with the bride and groom following behind in the bullock cart. The groom stands on the bullock cart while the bride sits behind him. Passersby on the road are captured turning to watch this unique spectacle, adding to the charm of the event. The video was shared on the Instagram page @akash_masoom_ladka. The caption, “Kisne Nahin Dekhi Aisi Bidai” translates to “Who hasn’t seen such a farewell,” further enhancing the nostalgic sentiment.

The video quickly gained viral status, eliciting feedback from viewers in the comment section. Comments such as “Old is gold,” “I love this,” and “How beautiful” reflect the admiration and appreciation for the traditional charm of the event.

Interestingly, a similar incident occurred a few days earlier in the Ganjam district of Odisha. The bride and groom, Sarita Behera and Mahendra Nayak, who both work for a private company in Bhubaneswar, opted to uphold old customs that are now rarely observed.

They informed their families that they would eschew the use of cars on their wedding day. Mahendra arrived for the wedding riding a horse in a procession, while Sarita was transported to her in-laws’ place in a decorated bullock cart after the wedding.

According to reports, Mahendra rented the bullock cart from a nearby village to make the wedding a memorable event. He and his friends adorned the bullock cart with bamboo hoods and flowers to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
