According to reports, the name of the village is Nongjrong, and it is located in the East Khasi Hill region of Meghalaya. It is about 60 kilometres from Shillong. The village has deep valleys on three sides, with the sound of flowing rivers. Travellers can also hear the chirping of birds. Even clouds come near the village in the morning, and the weather here is extremely pleasant. Tourists come here for trekking, and they are thrilled to see the hospitality of the people of this village, as they are famous for their traditional lifestyle.

Nongjrong is surrounded by lush green hills, ancient waterfalls, and sparkling rivers, making this village one of the most beautiful tourist places in Meghalaya.

Nongjrong village has stunning views of the sunrise and sunset. Thousands of tourists come here every year to see it and spend some time amidst the clouds. Some people have revealed that they leave at 2:30 AM from Shillong to see the dawn, as it takes more than two hours to reach the village from the capital.

The locals have also warned people not to travel late in the evening as the place has no street lights, sign boards, petrol pumps, and even Google Maps doesn’t work in the area. There will just be fog and darkness. The best time to visit the village is between November and February, as it is the most pleasant time of the year.
