Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh, who had refused to denounce the Kanishka bombing incident, received donations from Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan revealed in an article on social media site X this week.
Jagmeet, an alleged Khalistani sympathiser, received the donation from Nijjar in 2017.

Nijjar, a 45-year-old Canadian citizen, was shot dead as he left the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023. Ties between India and Canada came under severe strain following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations in September that there had been a “potential” involvement of Indian agents in Nijjar’s killing, which is being investigated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
According to Bezirgan, Elections Canada records show that a Nijjar with a postal code of V3W 0J4 donated to the NDP and Jagmeet Singh in 2017. A simple Google search revealed that the postal code is associated with Nijjar Plumbing & Heating Ltd, the deceased’s plumbing company where his son Mehtab Nijjar works, as per LinkedIn records.
Top intelligence sources told CNN-News18 that Nijjar and Canadian politicians were working closely and this was a well-known fact.
“This donation is small disclosure in that direction but important evidence to suggest Khalistani terrorists and Canadian politicians working together,” said a source. “He was doing their drugs, weapons, and other illegal trades. He was under threat and he and his son were briefed by Canadian agencies is also known to everyone now. Terrorists donating money to politicians is a clear indication of their ambition.”
