Ahmedabad: Bosch Automotive Electronics India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Bosch group, will supply brake solutions for the world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano, the company said on Wednesday.
The firm will open a small unit in Gujarat to supply the brake solutions to Tata Motors, which is setting up a plant in Sanand, to manufacture the Rs 1 lakh car, said Head-corporate communications of Bosch Group India, Sanjay Chakravarty.
"The unit which will supply brake solutions to Tata and will be ready in six months," he said.
The Bosch group recently inaugurated a manufacturing plant at Naganathapura near Bangalore for manufacturing of electronic control units (ECU) for diesel and gasoline fuel injection systems with an investment of Rs 60 crore.
"The first batch of the ECUs manufactured at Naganathapura will be supplied to Tata Motors for Nano cars," Chakravarty said.
