Ghaziabad Metro: NCRTC Extends Namo Bharat Train Timings In The Evening By 2 Hours
NCRTC has already completed the Meerut (South) station, which will soon add another eight kilometers to the operational corridor, promising even more convenience for daily commuters.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced that the Namo Bharat trains will now run for two extra hours in the evening.

Starting today, the trains will operate until 10 PM, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Currently, the metro trains run from 6 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Saturday, and 8 AM to 8 PM on Sundays. This schedule is for the 34km stretch of the RRTS section in Ghaziabad, covering eight stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar (South), and Modinagar (North).

According to Hindustan Times, an NCRTC spokesperson explained, “The new operating hours for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will be 6 AM to 10 PM from Monday to Saturday, and 8 AM to 10 PM on Sundays. This change aims to make travel more convenient, especially for those who finish work late. It’s also expected to benefit women passengers.”

Extending the timings is part of NCRTC’s plan to attract more riders and meet the needs of more passengers. With the upcoming opening of the Meerut (South) station, ridership is anticipated to grow even further.

Currently, Ghaziabad and Modinagar (North) are the busiest stations, handling 25 percent and 20 percent of the daily riders, respectively. On May 8, Namo Bharat trains on the 34km route in Ghaziabad saw around one million passengers.

The ongoing 82 km RRTS project will eventually link Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut with high-speed Namo Bharat trains designed to travel at 180 km/h. With the first station in Meerut (South) nearly ready, an additional eight kilometers will soon be added to the operational corridor.
