Maserati Quattroporte Gets a Facelift and Two New Variants
Maserati has restyled its flagship model and has made it faster, thanks to a 10% increase in aerodynamics.

Maserati has given its flagship model – Quattroporte a facelift, and has also added two new variants to the line up. The car now sports a new bumper design with matte black profile at the front and the matte black extractor at the rear. The front grille looks more appealing now as compared to before, as the shark-nose styled front-end now has new vertical chrome elements. Maserati has also fitted the Quattroporte with matte black side skirts and a restyled Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs).

The major upgrade in the car though, has to be the electrically adjustable Air Shutter, which has been fitted in the front grille, between the air vents and the engine’s radiator. The Air Shutter provides optimal control of the engine’s fluid temperature and, combined with the newly designed front and rear bumpers, air conveyor and flat bottom, the aerodynamic drag of the car has been improved by 10%.

The car will also come equipped with an Air Quality Sensor, a feature that combines a sensor and a signal analysis system which can calculate the external pollution levels, and prevent polluted air and toxic gases from entering the cabin.

On the inside, the biggest change is that now there is an 8.4-inch infotainment screen, which is the biggest screen ever to be fitted in a Quattroporte. The central, lower console has also been redesigned and now features a rotary knob for volume and function control, a new lid and phone storage compartment. The new infotainment system is compatible with both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functions.

A new package of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems has been introduced as an option – which Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Brake Assist and Automated Emergency Braking and a Surround View Camera.

Maserati has also introduced two new trims, called GranLusso and GranSport. The GranLusso has more of a luxurious treatment with the likes of chrome bumper finish and a sculptured retroreflector along with a body coloured spoiler on the back.

The GranSport on the other hand enhances features sporty additions like aerodynamic splits in the front grille, black piano spoiler and 21 inch Titano rims with red brake calipers.

Maserati is yet to make an announcement regarding the pricing of the new variants.
