The New Hyundai IONIQ is already on a roll in its home country South Korea, with sales figures of a total of 1,425 units within the month of November.
This figure comprises of all variants of the Ioniq, including the all-electric (EV) and the hybrid version. Total number of Ioniq EVs that were sold is 1,085 and and 345 hybrids.
Interestingly, the all electric version is about €10,000 more pricey than the hybrid, but even so people have preferred buying it. We can only guess, the reason behind is the EV's high efficiency.
There are a number of Hyundai IONIQ EVs running as part of WaiveCar’s “free” carsharing service in Los Angeles, so if anyone wants to find out how they like the EV, they could hail WaiveCar EV and get an idea.
Considering the positive response to the Ioniq EV, it is being speculated that Toyota may go ahead with introducing an all-electric Prius, since the brand lost the top spot from the list of cars good with fuel economy.
