Parking at Delhi Airport Cost This Man More Than a Round Trip to Lucknow; Car Found Damaged

In a shocking incident, a Delhi resident revealed that he received a staggering bill of Rs 5,770 for parking his car at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Sharing the incident on social media platform X (previously Twitter), Deepak Gosai said that he had parked his vehicle in the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) facility of Terminal 3 on August 17. When he returned on August 26, he was greeted with a Rs 5,770 parking bill, comprising Rs 4,889.83 in parking fees and Rs 880.17 in GST, leaving him visibly shaken.

However, the bill was not the only issue. Upon reaching his car, Deepak was horrified to discover significant damage: the gate lock was broken, and the car had multiple scratches. Despite his attempts to lodge a complaint, he found no support from the parking staff, who had already collected their fees and were unresponsive to his grievances.

Frustrated and feeling ignored, Deepak took to social media platform X to voice his concerns and share his distressing experience. The parking fee charged to him was higher than the cost of a round-trip flight from Delhi to Lucknow.

On September 3, the cost of a round-trip ticket from Delhi to Lucknow on Air India Express was just Rs 5,672. This is notably less than the Rs 5,770 parking fee incurred by Deepak.

Notably, the parking rates at Terminal 3 are structured as follows: Rs 120 for the first 30 minutes, Rs 170 for the next 30 minutes, and Rs 100 per hour for the following five hours. If the vehicle is parked for more than five hours, the rate is Rs 600 per 24-hour period.

This incident, highlighting concerns over both exorbitant parking fees and vehicle security at the Delhi airport, has sent travellers in shock.
