The Czech Republic car manufacturer Skoda has finally launched its much-awaited electric SUV called Elroq. The company has released the model in the European market as of now, and it is likely to arrive in India as well.
The brand has not revealed the launching dates as yet. However, some reports claim that it might hit the market in 2025, and will compete against the upcoming electric Creta.
Variants, Battery and Power
The EV has been offered in four variants, featuring different battery setups with each trim. The base one gets a 55 kWh option with a rear-wheel drive layout, generating a maximum output of 168 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The second top has been powered by a 63 kWh battery pack, which produces a maximum power of 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque.
When it comes to the third trim, it uses an 82 kWh unit with an overall output of 281 bhp and 545 Nm of torque, while the last and top-of-the-line variant churns out a maximum output of 295 bhp and 545 Nm of torque.
Design Language
The Skoda Elroq is based on Volkswagen’s most reliable MEB Platform, which is already has been used in multiple EVs. In terms of road presence, the EV comes with a very minimalistic approach, featuring a sleek LED headlight setup, paired with cub-shaped Day Time Running Lights (DRLs).
The front grill has been given a piano black finish touch, while the lower panel has received a mate finish treatment. The bonnet gets a silver finish with Skoda’s badging, which makes it more aesthetic from the outside.
Interior
Inside, the Elroq is treated with a massive 13-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, which supports all the wireless car connect technology. The other notable elements include a multi-functional steering wheel, a wireless charging pad. rear AC vents, comfortable seats, and automatic climate control.
