The Skoda’s one of the tech-loaded sedan’s Octavia, which was discontinued in India a few months ago, is likely to make a comeback soon. It has been reported that the model might receive a major facelift, and hit the market soon. However, official details about the same are yet to be shared by the brand.
Statement by Top Official
According to Autocar India, Skoda India brand director Petr Janeba has revealed that the company has a plan to the assemble model in the country. The publication also quoted him, where he said “We are exploring the Octavia for India because this car must come back. This could exactly be up to Rs 30 lakh, where we currently have no offering.”
Amid this, the exact time frame is still unknown. Some reports suggested that the company might drop some official hints soon. Amid this, Skoda is expected to release the next-gen Kodiaq, which is pipelined for the second quarter of 2025.
Model Confirmed
Speaking about the same, Janeba said, “As a parts and components car, the Kodiak is already decided. It will come in between April and June next year. The next part and component consideration is the Octavia,” as reported by Autocar.
Plans for Skoda Octavia RS
The brand is expected to bring Octavia’s sportier RS version as well. The model is already making waves Internationally, and getting an overwhelming response from the customers. It comes with multiple engine options, ranging between of 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel unit.
Indian customers are likely to receive the vehicle only in petrol version only. However, the powertrain is yet to be decided.
