SpiceJet Announces India's Cheapest RT-PCR Test for Airline's Pax at Rs 299; Rs 499 for Public
SpiceHealth has also tied up with SpiceJet to offer a special price of Rs 299 per test for the airline's passengers, cheapest in India.

SpiceJet promoters backed SpiceHealth has extended the RT-PCR test at Rs 499 to the general public. The company claimed that its test’s cost is the cheapest available in the market. Till now, the company has been working with various state governments and government medical bodies to facilitate Covid testing. “While that association continues, SpiceHealth has now decided to open its testing facilities for the general public to ensure rapid testing to fight the pandemic," the company said in a statement.

"In the first phase, the company will make its testing facility available for the general public in two of the most affected cities in India – Mumbai and Delhi."

Besides, the company has tied up with SpiceJet to offer a special price of Rs 299 per test for the airline’s passengers.

SpiceJet, under its health arm SpiceHealth, earlier partnered with government to launch India’s most affordable RT-PCR test via mobile laboratory at Rs 499. The initiative was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah back in November.

The SpiceHealth, part of the aviation group SpiceJet, in a statement said the laboratory can process up to 3,000 test reports per day and it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The SpiceHealth said it will set up 20 laboratories in different parts of the country in the first phase and a significant proportion of the tests will be conducted in collaboration with agencies of the Centre and the state governments.
