A nursery student in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, was suspended by the principal of a private school for allegedly carrying non-vegetarian food in his lunchbox. A video filmed by the Muslim student’s mother went viral on social media, bringing the event to light. The video depicted a heated disagreement between the principal and the child’s mother.
The principal could be heard dealing with the mother saying, “We don’t want to teach such kids with such morals, who will demolish our temples and bring non-vegetarians to school.” The child, according to the principal, talked of “converting them to Islam” and offering non-vegetarian food to everyone. The principal is shown stating that the child acknowledged to bringing non-vegetarian food to school, despite his mother’s denial.

The mother denied the school’s charges, claiming that a 7-year-old child like her son could not possibly talk about such topics, to which the principal responded that the child learns everything at home, guided by his parents.
The principal also stated that the student’s name had been taken from the school’s enrolment registration because the parents of other children had an issue.
Additionally refuting the principal’s assertions, the child’s mother states that the students at school engage in debates over nationwide Hindu-Muslim problems. The principal maintained that the child’s mother was attempting to “mislead” the school by making counter-allegations against another student, claiming that another child frequently beat and harassed her son.
In response to the video becoming viral online, the Amroha Police Department said that the District Inspector of Schools (DIS) has stepped in and a three-member inquiry team has been constituted to examine and take further action in the situation, reported India Today.
