Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) rolled out new bus services to connect Trichy International Airport with key city and mofussil bus hubs.
The launch event was graced by Municipal Administration Minister K N Nehru.
Starting from the airport’s arrival lounge, six new daily services will link passengers to Central Bus Stand, Srirangam, and No 1 Tollgate. These services are timed to match flight arrivals and departures, according to TOI.
For late-night travelers, TNSTC has introduced a night bus service. This bus will depart Central Bus Stand at 12:15 AM, reaching the airport by 12:30 AM, and return from the airport at 12:45 AM, arriving back at Central Bus Stand by 1:00 AM. It will also stop at TVS Tollgate, Mannarpuram, and Trichy Railway Junction, catering to workers and shopkeepers in the airport area who need transportation at odd hours.
Additionally, four more services will operate daily from the airport’s integrated terminal to Srirangam (7:45 AM) and No 1 Tollgate (5:00 PM) during peak times. These buses will also connect Thillai Nagar, Chathiram Bus Stand, and Thiruvanaikoil Bus Stop.
A Muthukrishnan, General Manager of TNSTC Trichy, stated that the frequency and schedule of the buses may be adjusted based on passenger demand and airport statistics.
With the new integrated terminal located over 1.2 km from the Trichy-Pudukottai National Highway, these services will ensure passengers can board directly from the arrival lounge, making travel more convenient.
