Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the limited edition Triumph Rocket 3 R Black, Rocket 3 GT Triple Black globally and only 1,000 units each of these motorcycles will be available worldwide. A few of these units have been allotted to India as well and while Triumph has not revealed the price of these models, they are expected to cost slightly more than the standard Rocket GT and Rocket R models which are priced at Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 18.50 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom).
While the motorcycles remain identical mechanically, they do come with a host of visual changes which, as the name suggests, give the motorcycle a blacked-out theme. It gets black paint colour with both matte and gloss finishes at different places, blacked-out tank badges and the engine, intake covers, exhaust headers, end caps, radiator cowl heat shields, visor, handlebar clamps, clutch and brake lever, headlamp bezels, swingarm guard and the footpegs – all are finished in black. Additionally, both the models get a carbon-fibre mudguard at the front.
Both the models will also come with a certificate of authenticity with the VIN number and given the few units that are being made for this worldwide, the motorcycle is definitely a collector’s item.

Mechanically, though, it remains the same. This means, the highlight of the motorcycle continues to be the massive 2,500cc liquid-cooled engine which makes it the largest engine in a production motorcycle in the world. This engine makes 167hp at 6,000rpm and a humongous 221Nm of torque at 4,000rpm which, as per Triumph, can make the Rocket go from 0-100 km/h in 2.73sec.
