As the entire nation is awaiting the grand consecration of Lord Rama Idol at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the affair has got even grander than it already is with the inclusion of a dance spectacle by Bollywood actress Hema Malini 5 days before the ceremony. Hema Malini, who is also a BJP MP, will showcase a dance drama in Ayodhya on the theme of the Hindu epic Ramayana on January 17, ahead of the consecration ceremony.
Hema Malini’s office has released a clip showing the actress and politician greeting fans and devotees with folded hands and stating that she, along with her team, would be present for the Pratishthan, whom the country has awaited for many years, and recite a dance drama on January 17, five days before the grand ceremony.

At the celebration honouring Sant Mirabai’s 525th birthday in November of last year, Hema Malini delivered a dance drama in her Lok Sabha constituency of Mathura. She was seen at the recent Mumbai wedding celebration of Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan, and Nupur Shikhare. In 2003, Hema Malini got into the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined the Rajya Sabha, the Indian Parliament’s upper house.
The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of the Lord Rama idol will begin on January 16 with rituals. On January 22, the principal rites will be conducted by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit, who is based in Varanasi. Amrit Mahotsav will be observed throughout the city from January 14 to 22. To feed the thousands of devotees that attend the event, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya has been prepared. To house these approaching believers, Ayodhya is erecting tent cities.
Prominent members of the Congress, such as Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, have ‘respectfully’ declined their invitations. Simultaneously, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat declared that the temple being built is a “long-cherished dream come true”.
