Madgaon Express Box Office Day 4: Kunal Kemmu Film Stays Stable, Inches Close To Rs 10 Crore
Madgaon Express hit theatres on March 22 and clashed at the box office with Randeep Hooda’s Swatantra Veer Savarkar.

Even though Madgaon Expresses witnessed a slow start at the box office, it is maintaining its stability and is now inching close to Rs 10 crore in India. As reported by Sacnilk.com, Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut earned Rs 2.60 crore in India on Monday i.e. on the occasion of Holi. While morning shows recorded an occupancy of 9.32%, it increased to 35.82% during the evening.

Previously, Madgaon Express collected Rs 1.50 crore, Rs 2.75 crore and Rs 2.80 crore respectively in its first three days. With this, the film’s total collection now stands at Rs 9.65 crore.

It should also be noted that Madgaon Express was released on March 22 and clashed at the box office with Randeep Hooda’s Swatantra Veer Savarkar. The latter has earned close to Rs 7 crore as of now.

On Monday, Kunal Kemmu also shared a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from Madgaon Express sets and expressed gratitude towards all for showering love on his directorial debut. “From day 1 of shoot to the day I said the last pack up on the sets of Madgoan Express. Each day has been so special in so many ways. And I couldn’t have done it without my amazing team of actors and technicians. To the many colours of friendship that the film showcases and the many colours of my own personality that I got to explore through this film. I wish you all a very happy Holi and thank you so much for all the love that you have shown to our film,” he wrote.

Madgaon Express revolves around three friends who go on a vacation to Goa, only to find their epic vacation plan turns into a nightmare. The film stars Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary in the lead. It also features Nora Fatehi in a key role.

News18 Showsha gave the film a 4-star rating and wrote, “Madgaon Express is something that we’ve never seen before and thank god for that. In fact, it’s even tough to slot it into a certain genre. The film is whacky, loud and chaotic and unapologetically revels in its own eccentricities.”

“The characters are all oddballs and you wouldn’t want to encounter most of them in real life. It almost feels like Kunal chose to tell a tale without adhering to any set structures of storytelling and yet there’s a method to the madness. It’s so all over the place and such an incredible hodgepodge of so many things that you can’t help but burst out into peals of laughter every now and then, and that’s Madgaon Express’ biggest win,” the review added.
