Jet Airways has filed a petition before the Bombay High Court against Air Sahara seeking certain interim relief.

New Delhi: Jet Airways on Friday said it had filed a petition before the Bombay High Court against Air Sahara seeking certain interim relief.

The airlines informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the petition had been filed under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 against Sahara India Commercial Corporation Ltd (SICCL) and other selling shareholders (which were mentioned in the shareholder purchase agreement of January 18, 2006).

SICCL had also filed a similar petition against the company and ICICI Bank Ltd under the same Act before the District Judge's Court, Lucknow, it added.

On Friday, arguments on the case remained inconclusive at the court, which fixed June 30 as the next date of hearing.

Directing that the interim order freezing the escrow account will continue till further orders, District and Sessions Judge Shiv Charan Sharma said that if needed, the

matter could be heard on July 1 also.
