New Delhi: The Kingfisher Airlines has decided to extend its lockout till October 20, expressing hope that the carrier will resume operations from October 21. This comes even as aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said that there has been no communication from KFA since it was served a show-cause notice.

In wake of the extension of the lockout of the carrier, the DGCA has said that it will decide on the future course of action after October 20. This comes a day after CNN-IBN reported that the domestic carrier would extend its lockout, which was earlier extended till October 12 by the management citing "illegal strike" by its staff.

According to sources, the employees of Kingfisher Airlines have made it clear that they will not join back work till they get their salaries. The employees are also planning to launch further protests as part of their nation-wide agitation against the management for not paying their salaries.

This comes days after Kingfisher Airlines CEO Sanjay Aggarwal had on October 9 sent a letter to all employees urging them to join back work. However, the employees said that there was no mention about their salaries in the letter, because of which the request was not accepted.

Meanwhile, sources have said that the airline has shifted the date of online bookings from October 13 to October 21. The airline has to reply to the show-cause notice of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) by October 20. The regulator had sent them a notice on October 5 asking why they should not cancel their license.
